Bis-Man Transit & The CAT: Your Connection to Bismarck-Mandan

Located in the heart of Bismarck on East Rosser Avenue, the Bis-Man Transit Center serves as the central hub for public transportation throughout Bismarck, Mandan, and Lincoln. Operated by the Bis-Man Transit Board, a local non-profit organization, the center provides residents and visitors with convenient, affordable, and eco-friendly ways to explore the community.

The CAT (Capital Area Transit) is the fixed-route bus system offering six routes across Bismarck and Mandan. Buses run Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., depending on the route. Riders can easily “Catch the CAT” from nearly any block corner along the routes, making city travel simple and accessible. Whether you’re commuting to work, heading to school, or discovering local attractions, the CAT helps you get there with ease.

To help new riders, the Bis-Man Transit website offers helpful “How to Ride” videos and a CAT 101 guide covering fares, route information, detours, and promotions. For individuals with disabilities and seniors over 70, Bis-Man Transit’s paratransit service provides convenient curb-to-curb transportation designed for accessibility and comfort.

The Bismarck-Mandan Transit Center is also home to a Jefferson Lines bus depot, connecting passengers to destinations across North Dakota and beyond. Travelers can head east to Fargo via I-94 or west toward Dickinson and Billings, Montana, making it an ideal stop for both local and long-distance travel.
