Sports Salt Lake

Located across from Temple Square and other tourist attractions, City Creek Center offers a mix of luxury retailers, unique-to-market stores and trusted brands, from Louis Vuitton, Coach, Kendra Scott and Tiffany & Co. to Salomon and Lululemon, as well as Nordstrom and Macy's. City Creek Center is a must-see attraction, with a fully tractable glass roof that opens and closes, unique to any shopping center in the United States. A pedestrian sky bridge over Main Street unifies the center on two city blocks. Water features include a creek that runs through the center, a fish pond with local trout and waterfalls. The America First Credit Union Fountain offers hourly shows and feature shows with three choreographed songs at 7 pm and 9 pm. Fire elements are added to the fountain shows after dusk.

Visitors can watch the recording of this famous international broadcast at 9:30 a.m. in the Tabernacle.\* Note: During the summer, the Choir rehearses and performs Music & the Spoken Word in the Conference Center.

**Organ Recitals**—Hear live [organ recitals](https://www.thetabernaclechoir.org/events/organ-recitals.html) on Temple Square, including from the Salt Lake Tabernacle organ, the Conference Center organ, and the Salt Lake Assembly Hall organ. The recitals take place each Monday through Saturday at 12:00 noon and each Sunday at 2 p.m. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, a second daily recital takes place each Monday through Saturday at 2:00 p.m. on the Conference Center organ.

The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square

Chronicling the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from its beginning in 1830 to the present day, collections at the library contain manuscripts, books, Church records, photographs, oral histories, architectural drawings, pamphlets, newspapers, periodicals, maps, microforms, and audiovisual materials. Staff at the library create methods for accessing this information.

Family Discovery Center

Erected in 1859 at the entrance to Brigham Young’s property which led to the mouth of City Creek Canyon. Replaced several times over the years, the present 4,000 lb. eagle capping the 76-foot span of Eagle Gate has a wingspread of 20 feet.

Eagle Gate Monument

Constructed in 1855 as a residence for Brigham Young and his family. No tours, but The Pantry Restaurant is on the lower level. It is closed for renovation through 2021.

Lion House

Come visit the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Museum. Located in the northwest corner of City Creek Mall (99 W So. Temple, Suite 102 - mall level of the Condo tower and open M-S 11:00 am to 7:00 pm), it preserves the state’s sports heritage through fun interactive displays and memorabilia from former Olympians, athletes and coaches. Utah Sports Hall of Fame Museum

This building is currently under renovation. It will be closed to the public until 2025. This beautifully resorted historic building, the former Hotel Utah built in 1911 and listed on the National Registry of Historic Buildings, houses the popular FamilySearch Center, for beginners interested in exploring their family history. The 500-seat Legacy Theater shows an hour-long, free film about the life of the Prophet Joseph Smith. There are three excellent public restaurants on site: The Roof and The Garden, both located on the 10th floor, and the Nauvoo Cafe, located in the southwest corner of the Main Floor. Meeting, banquet, and wedding facilities are also available at various locations throughout the building. Free tours are available Mon-Sat.

Joseph Smith Memorial Building

A National Historic Landmark, and a monument to courageous people who conquered the desert. Built in 1854, this served as the official residence of Brigham Young when he was President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Governor of the Utah Territory. Free tours daily.
