The Legend2Legacy Championship Series is a premier three-day youth flag football experience designed to create an exceptional experience for student-athletes, families, coaches, officials, vendors, and host communities. The series begins the last Friday in January 2027 and continues through the end of July 2027, strategically following favorable weather patterns across the country. Winter events are hosted primarily in the Southeast and Southwest, while spring and summer events expand into the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast.
Each tournament is expected to attract between 60 and 100 teams, averaging approximately 80 teams per event. Teams consist of a minimum of 11 athletes, with approximately 80% traveling from outside the local market. While 20% of participating teams are expected to be local or within driving distance, many choose to stay in partner hotels to keep their teams together throughout the tournament weekend, generating valuable overnight stays and visitor spending for the host destination.
The tournament schedule begins on Friday with team check-in, followed by late check-in at the venue on Saturday morning. Pool play begins at approximately 8:45 a.m., with every team guaranteed a minimum of three games in a round-robin format. Saturday evening features an Under the Lights standardized athletic testing combine, providing athletes with verified performance data in a professional event atmosphere. Sunday consists of single-elimination playoffs, championship games, and awards presentations.
Every event includes a Vendor and Resource Village that connects student-athletes and families with colleges, nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, sports performance professionals, recruiting resources, and community partners. Following each event, participants are invited to a comprehensive virtual educational series covering recruiting, college eligibility, academics, leadership, financial literacy, NIL education, mental wellness, and other resources that support long-term student-athlete success.
Legend2Legacy Foundation is seeking long-term partnerships with destinations interested in establishing annual championship events that generate hotel room nights, visitor spending, community engagement, and lasting economic impact. We welcome collaboration through convention and visitors bureaus, sports commissions, chambers of commerce, local businesses, grant opportunities, in-kind support, and community partnerships to build sustainable events that grow year after year.
