<p>Ten days ago, Chanettee Wannasaen was hoping to find a way to simply qualify for a spot in the LPGA Portland Classic. On Sunday, the 19-year-old rookie from Thailand lifted the trophy as one of the most unlikely winners in the history of the tour. Wannasaen took control of the tournament by going 6 under in a five-hole stretch on the front nine Sunday on the way to a final-round 63 and a tournament-record 26 under par at Columbia Edgewater. The result came out of nowhere, as Wannasaen had missed nine consecutive LPGA cuts and had not finished better than 51st in a tour event this year.</p>
