XTERRA is nearing 30 years of exploration through nature, and the debut of XTERRA Ruidoso from August 15–17, 2025 is a defining step in this journey. This is the first chance to experience the trails that will host the 2026 XTERRA World Championship, bringing the global off-road community back to its continental origins.
Made possible through the support of the Ruidoso Midtown Association, visionaries like Eddie Ryan at the Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico Tourism Department, and Lincoln County Community Health Council, together with the Big Ben Sanchez Youth Foundation, the invitation is open to discover a new era where festivities reach far beyond the finish line.
Six-time World Champion Bruce Wacker said, “I’m 79 years old and I’d like to do another Worlds. Ruidoso [in 2025] is an ideal starting point.” For Brittany Schroeder, it’s a return to familiar ground. “I grew up visiting Ruidoso. The town has so much rich history and culture to share. I can’t wait for everyone to get to experience it.”
Jordan Shomaker is racing to “represent my community, Sacred Cycle,” while Steve Croucher sees it as a rare opportunity to test what lies ahead: “I think I speak for everyone in sharing my excitement to try out next year’s World Championship venue a year in advance.”
XTERRA Ruidoso carries the weight of future champions ahead, but also the significance of a first step on new ground and the many new connections that bond local effort into global momentum.
