April Tourism Surge Brings More Than $4.3 Million in Economic Impact to Tri-Cities, WA

April is shaping up to be a strong month for tourism in the Tri-Cities, WA, with 18 conventions, tournaments, and events expected to bring nearly 20,000 visitors and generate more than $4.35 million in economic impact for the region.

From youth and amateur sporting events to regional conferences, April highlights the Tri-Cities’ continued growth as a destination for sports tourism and group travel.

Two major fastpitch softball and baseball tournaments—the National Softball Association Icebreaker Girls Fastpitch Tournament and the West Coast Premier Tournaments Tri-Cities Season Kick-Off—will bring thousands of athletes and their families to the region on back-to-back weekends, generating a combined $1.34 million in economic impact. Additional large-scale sporting events throughout the month, including lacrosse, soccer, baseball and running events, will further drive visitation and overnight stays.

Tourism continues to be a key economic driver for the region, with visitor spending supporting local jobs, generating tax revenue and contributing to overall community vitality. Events like those scheduled in April play a critical role in sustaining that impact by attracting out-of-town visitors who stay in local hotels, dine in restaurants and explore the Tri-Cities.
