BUSA Hosts Record-Breaking Soccer Event in Shelby County

Shelby County is proud to be a host one of the largest youth soccer tournaments in the Southeast—the 2025 Birmingham Bash Soccer Tournament presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. From September 26–28, fields across Shelby County and the southern Birmingham metro area will be filled with the excitement and thrill of youth sports and nonstop cheering from supporters! This year’s Birmingham Bash has shattered State and regional records, bringing in over 440 teams from nine states. With more than 6,000 athletes and 18,000 fans and supporters in attendance, the Bash has earned its reputation as Alabama’s largest single-weekend youth sporting event.

Beyond the competition, the numbers speak volumes: the Birmingham Bash is projected to have a $9.8 million impact on the local economy. Families and teams will be staying in our hotels, dining in local restaurants, and exploring everything Shelby County and the Greater Birmingham area has to offer while here for the tournament.

The Birmingham Bash is made possible by our longtime partner, Birmingham United Soccer Association/Alabama FC, Alabama’s largest soccer organization with more than 9,700 youth players.
