Launched in 2009, the Cobra PUMA Golf State Cup Series is a unique junior golf event series providing competitive junior golfers development in important life skills such as charitable giving, leadership and teamwork.
In 2022, 17 junior-led events raised more than $1.2M in gross revenue for local charities and the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant. Four of those Cobra PUMA Golf State Cup Series participants have also found personal success on the golf course this spring season. Read more about their victories below.
Miles Russell of Jacksonville, Florida, (2024) hosted the Florida Sunshine Cup in 2022, which benefits the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. Currently No. 198 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Russell has already won two AJGA tournaments in 2023 at the Moon Golf Junior All-Star and TaylorMade TP5 Junior All-Star.
Ryan Downes of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, (2024) will host the 2023 Mass Cup, which will specifically benefit Boston Children’s Hospital. Downes, a Vanderbilt University commit, is currently No. 28 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and won the 2023 Justin Thomas Junior Championship.
Aiden Cudney of Appleton, Wisconsin, (2024) is a participant in the Wisconsin Cup. Cudney played in the Wisconsin Cup for the past five years, every year since its inception. The Cobra PUMA Golf State Cup event supports the Wisconsin PGA Jr Golf Foundation and the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC Fund). This spring, Cudney earned medalist honors during the Qualifier of the 2023 AJGA Preview at Meadowbrook and then went on to win the event.
Blades Brown of Nashville, Tennessee, (2026) is a participant in the Tennessee Cup. The Tennessee Cup supports the Snedeker Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Brown currently sits at No.109 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and won the 2023 AJGA Junior at Canebrake presented by Piedmont Bank.
