Discover Monroe-West Monroe to Host LHSAA State Tennis and Powerlifting Championships
Tourism Bureau Secures Championships for Next Two Years
MONROE-WEST MONROE, LA. ― Discover Monroe-West Monroe (DMWM) has been approved to host the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) State Tennis and Powerlifting Championships for 2027 and 2028.
Both championships are set to take place during the Spring season.
The LHSAA Powerlifting Championship is officially on the calendar for March 31 – April 3, 2027, and March 22-25, 2028, at the West Monroe Sports and Events facility. This championship is expected to draw in 1000 competitors and 2500 spectators, with an estimated economic impact of $554,164.40. DMWM, in collaboration with West Monroe High School, will host the state championship.
The LHSAA Tennis State Championship is scheduled for April 26-30, 2027, and April 24-28, 2028, at the Charlotte Bolton Tennis Complex and ULM’s Heard Tennis Courts. During this championship, Ouachita Parish will be able to witness 1000 competitors, and 1500 spectators come to our destination. DMWM is teaming up with the NELA Community Tennis Association, the University of Louisiana Monroe, and the City of Monroe to ensure its success.
