The Snohomish County Sports Commission is a community focused non-profit organization that contributes to the economic development and quality of life in Snohomish County. The Sports Commission team takes pride in ensuring a premier experience for athletes, spectators, and staff.

15 miles north of Seattle and 120 miles south of Vancouver, British Columbia lies Snohomish County. Nestled between the sparkling blue waters of Puget Sound and the rugged, snowcapped peaks of the Cascade Mountains, Snohomish County has a variety of unique adventures and attractions for those visiting the region. Located in the heart of aviation country, Snohomish County is home to the Boeing’s Everett plant, one of the largest buildings in the world. The county’s 20 towns each offer a world of their own, from the coastal communities of Edmonds and Everett to the river valleys and mountain farmlands of Monroe and Sultan. “We invite sports teams and spectators to experience our natural beauty and top-notch venues. Come play in the PNW!” says Tammy Dunn, Executive Director of the Snohomish County Sports Commission.  


Sites to See 

Funko Headquarters – Founded in Snohomish in 1998, Funko is an iconic pop culture brand perhaps most famous today for their Pops. The brand creates toys and figures of countless beloved movie characters and other beloved pop culture icons. Their 17,000 square-foot flagship store is in downtown Everett. “There are lines out the door every day of people waiting to get their exclusive Funko pop. They are a unique attraction for us,” Dunn says. 

Boeing Future of Flight – In the town of Mukilteo, Boeing Future of Flight is one of Snohomish County’s premier aviation attractions and part of the Paine Field Aviation District. Take the world-renowned Boeing Factory Tour, a 90-minute tour of the Boeing Everett plant where you can watch the 777, 767 and 747 being assembled right before your eyes. Also be sure to explore the interactive exhibits and displays in the Gallery. This is a must-see spot for any age.

Seattle Premium Outlets – For some retail therapy, head to the Seattle Premium Outlets after your tournament or event. With over 100 outlet stores from the world’s leading designers and brand names including Coach, Polo Ralph Lauren, Burberry, and Nike, enjoy a world-class shopping experience right here in Snohomish County! 

Alderwood Mall – Featuring a garden-like atmosphere, Alderwood is conveniently located along Interstate 5 and home to numerous retail shops such as REI, Nordstrom’s, and Zumiez. While you’re there, check out what’s playing at Loews Cineplex and head in for a movie. After the show, choose from a wide selection of local restaurants, including Anthony’s Seafood Grille and Blazing Onion Burgers. 

Historic Downtown Snohomish – For a true taste of local, small-town life in Snohomish County head to Historic Downtown Snohomish. Seemingly out of a storybook with vintage brick buildings, scenic surrounds and a charming ambiance, downtown Snohomish is renowned for their antique shopping and local eateries. Located minutes from Stocker Fields, downtown Snohomish is an ideal spot to relax and recharge after your tournament or event.

Meadowdale Athletic Complex

In Lynnwood, the Meadowdale Athletic Center boasts 3 turf infield baseball/softball fields, and 2 multi-purpose turf sports fields. The complex is perfectly suited to host baseball, fastpitch, adult softball, lacrosse, soccer, football, and Ultimate Frisbee events.  

Angel Of The Winds Arena

Home to the Western Hockey League franchise, Everett Silvertips, the Angel Of The Winds Arena houses two NHL-regulation ice rinks and can seat 8,300 people. This state-of-the-art venue can accommodate basketball, volleyball, figure skating, rodeo, ice racing, endurocross, wrestling and gymnastics, to name a few. Attached to the arena is the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center, which includes 11,000 sq ft ballroom and three meeting rooms. 

Stocker Fields

In Snohomish, Stocker Fields features up to 17 grass soccer fields, depending on the size of the fields. This expansive outdoor space can accommodate soccer, Spikeball, Ultimate Frisbee, paintball, and cornhole events. Stocker Fields holds league games and annual tournaments that feature hundreds of youth and adult soccer teams from the region. The facility has ample parking, areas for concessions and vendor booths, and to top it all off, is surrounded by incredible views.  


Past and Future Events 

Trifecta Seattle North Spartan Race presented by Snohomish County 

Snohomish County is the only location in the PNW which hosts a Trifecta Spartan Race. On September 11-12, 2021 the Meadow Wood Equestrian Center in Snohomish hosted three adult races and a kids race, bringing in more than 10,000 people. The trifecta – the Beast, Super, and Sprint races – vary in length through rugged train, beginning with The Sprint at 5km, The Super at 10km, and The Beast at 21km. The weekend also featured Spartan Kids, a series of obstacle course races. Snohomish County has successfully hosted the Trifecta Race since 2015. The Snohomish County Sports Commission is honored to host the Spartan event each year. 

US Club Soccer Northwest Cup Regional 

As another testament to the positive sports experience offered in Snohomish County, the US Club Soccer Northwest Cup Regional will return to Stocker Fields in June 2022. National Cup Regionals are open to U-13 through U-18 boys and girls age groups throughout the northwest. This past June 2021, Stocker Fields hosted the US Club Soccer Northwest Cup Regional.  


Accommodations and Travel Tips

Snohomish County is home to over 6,100 hotels, with the majority situated along Interstate 5 in Lynnwood and Everett. Visitors can find every major brand including  Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Best Western, and Choice Hotels.  

In addition to endless hotel options, the county is effortless to navigate. “With Interstate 5 running right through our county, it is easy to travel from the hotels to the venues” Dunn adds. Everett is home to Paine Field Terminal, a centrally located two terminal airport. Alaska Airlines flies direct from 6 cities, including California, Nevada, and Arizona. “With Paine Field Terminal centrally located, it’s easy to host your regional tournament in Snohomish County,” Dunn shares.
