Fishing in Michigan’s Thumbcoast

Last summer, we hosted Major League Fishing’s B&W Trailer Hitches Challenge. Competitors were not told the location until just before the event, and once announced, all fishable waters within 60 miles were off-limits until competition began—putting our fishery to the ultimate test.

Throughout the week, teams fished the 40-mile St. Clair River and the mouth of Lake Huron, many experiencing our waters for the first time. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with praise for easy access, smooth logistics, stunning blue water, and the volume of bass and other species caught.
