Scrumming for Glory: Pacific Nations Cup Final comes to the Mountain West
Sports Salt Lake was honored to be a part of the team for the announcement of the 2025 Pacific Nations Cup Final, along with World Rugby, Pacific Nations Cup, Utah Warriors, Utah Sports Commission, America First Field, Sandy City and Poly Days!
On May 8th, 2025, at America First Field, representatives from each participating organization along with players from each of the 6 countries came together to announce the location and pre-sale of the 2025 Pacific Nations Cup. “With Rugby World Cups 2031 and 2033 inching closer, major event opportunities like the Pacific Nations Cup are key contributors in growing the American rugby fanbase, engaging partners and raising the profile of our sport,” said USA Rugby CEO Bill Goren. This event is set to bring an estimated 5,400 room nights and an economic impact of $4.4 million.
The Pacific Nations Cup consists of the National Men’s Rugby teams from Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Japan, Canada, and the USA. As the third-largest annual tournament this event will also serve as a qualifier for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. The presale for tickets to the Pacific Nations Cup matches in the U.S. will begin Tuesday, May 13. Fans can click on this link to sign up for the pre-sale.
2025 MEXTOUR is kicking off in style—right here in Salt Lake!
Salt Lake will host the opening game for the 22nd MEXTOUR on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the legendary Rice-Eccles Stadium. This marks MEXTOUR’s second time in Utah, but its first-ever match at the stadium. The match between the Mexico Men’s National Team and Switzerland will be a heated match you won’t want to miss!
This event is expecting 50,000+ fans, 14,000 hotel room nights, and an economic impact of over $11.4 million— all in one weekend. Salt Lake is ready to pack the stadium to show the world how we bring the world’s football, in an American football stadium!

Athletes Unlimited Softball League knocks it out of the park in Salt Lake
A new era of professional women’s softball is here. Get ready to witness the action as the AUSL makes its Salt Lake debut July 16–19, 2025, at Dumke Family Softball Stadium on the University of Utah campus.
The Salt Lake 4 game series will showcase the Blaze taking on the Talons. With rosters filled with All-Americans, Olympians, and international stars, both teams represent the elite of the sport—and they’re ready to light up the diamond in Utah.
