How many tourism producing events will you host in 2025? (generate 20+ hotel rooms per night)

What is your biggest event? How many hotel room nights are generated on peak night(s)?
Our biggest event is our Teammate Basketball National Championship, currently held in Rock Hill, SC through 2026. Peak nights produce around 2,000 room nights.
Have you grown geographically in 2024 or project geographic growth in future years?
Our footprint began in the Southeast/East Coast but we’ve seen recent geographic growth into the Midwest/Northeast. We’re open to continued expansion into new markets.
What makes a Destination stand out when selecting a host?
For our weekend tournaments, we typically seek anywhere from 6-10 courts, ideally under one roof at one location. Events take place on Friday-Sunday. Proximity to hotels and local attractions/restaurants is always a good selling point to prospective teams. Another big help to us as the event host is getting “support staff” roles filled by the facility (e.g. assisting in finding scoreboard operators, etc).
Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, are you looking for new locations to host events? What geographic areas are you most interested in, or are you open to opportunities across the United States? Are you interested in going international (if so, where?).
Some states we have highlighted as locations we’d like to position ourselves in include: OH, KY, IN, PA, NJ – but are open to other destinations with the right combination of weekend/facility/incentive.
When can Destinations expect to see a new RFPs/Opportunities from your Organization? If you have an RFP currently listed, are you still looking for interest? When are the best times for Destinations to reach out to you if they are interested?
While we’re always searching for new Regular Season (weekend) events, our RFP for the 2027 Teammate Basketball National Championship, our largest annual event, will be available by Spring 2025. Please reach out anytime if your destination has interest in hosting one of our weekend tournaments (typically from Feb-June) or our national championship event (late June).
Does anyone from your team attend Sports Tourism Conferences? (If yes, which ones)
We’ll be present at CONNECT in Milwaukee and US Sports Congress in Florida.
