Mississippi Ranks No.1 in Junior World Series – Event Recap
The Jr. Boy’s World Series has concluded here in Opelika, AL with Hattiesburg, Mississippi outlasting the 11 other teams to claim the title. Congratulations to Hattiesburg for winning it all and for representing your state of Mississippi with class and excellence on and off the field! Us at Auburn-Opelika Tourism also want to thank the other 11 teams coming from 8 different states for your commitment and dedication to the game of baseball and to the Jr. Boys World Series!
We are very happy that all these teams across the south were able to travel great distances to be a part of this amazing event! Another big thank you to those who were working behind the scenes to help make this event possible, such as the field crew for working through rain and other delays, the City of Opelika, Opelika Parks and Rec, and volunteers who took time out of their day to help! We also want to show our greatest gratitude to Robert Noles and the Opelika Observer for capturing some amazing moments from the world series!
