As we close the books on June, the Mt. Pleasant Sports Commission is thrilled to look back on a truly remarkable month filled with exhilarating athletic events and vibrant community gatherings right here in central Michigan.
A Celebration of Inclusivity: Special Olympics State Summer Games🏆
For over 50 years, Central Michigan University and Mt. Pleasant have welcomed Special Olympics Michigan for their State Summer Games. The event brought together over 2,500 athletes, volunteers, and fans for three days of competition across eight sports. It was an honor to welcome these incredible athletes, their families, and countless volunteers to our community!

Teeing Off in Style: The Pure Michigan Golf Tour at Buck’s Run⛳
We were also delighted to kick off day two of the WJR Pure Michigan Golf Tour at Buck’s Run Golf Club. Events like this not only showcase our fantastic local facilities but also attract visitors. We look forward to many more rounds of professional and amateur golf in the future!

Cruising Through Our Community: Back to the Bricks🚘
Beyond traditional sporting events, our area also welcomed over 200 classic cars for the final Sunset Promo Tour Stop for Back to the Bricks! While not a competitive sport in the traditional sense, this event brought a unique vibrancy to our downtown streets and showcased another appeal of our community.
