Sacramento to Host Terra Madre Americas Festival This Weekend

While Sacramento has a reputation as a great sports town, it is probably best known as America’s Farm to Fork Capital – and this weekend is no exception!  Terra Madre Americas kicks off this weekend in downtown Sacramento. Happening Sept. 26–28, 2025, at Sacramento’s SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and the surrounding streets, this three-day celebration will bring food and drink tastings from across the Americas, celebrity chef cooking demos, hands-on workshops, live music, and more. Best of all, admission is FREE. Highlights include:

The Terra Madre Americas Marketplace, presented by UC Davis Health

Get a taste of the Americas as you explore and sample wine, coffee, spirits, meats, cheeses, seafood, and more from 75+ local and international vendors, with a special emphasis on California’s indigenous tribes and producers from the Golden State.

Live Music on the Golden 1 Live Music Stage

On Saturday and Sunday, the streets surrounding the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center will transform into an expanded version of Sacramento’s favorite street festival, filled with live music on the Golden 1 Live Music Stage headlined by The War on Drugs, Spoon, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Jade Bird, Passion Pit (Solo Acoustic), and a host of local bands. Alongside the music, you’ll find artisan vendors, interactive exhibits, food trucks, craft beer and wine, and plenty more to explore and enjoy.

Educational Panels & Hands-On Workshops

Join celebrity chefs like Alice Waters, Jeremiah Tower, and Sean Sherman, along with farmers, producers, vintners, and Slow Food experts from more than 16 countries across the Americas, for live cooking demos and thought-provoking panels that dive into food, culture, and sustainability.

Enoteca, presented by Bank of America

Sip and savor more than 80 wines from the United States and 17 from Latin America. For an added experience, don’t miss Meet the Producers — a tasting that lets you sample 10 wines for $50 (purchase on site) from a rotating selection of 30 of the different wines being offered inside the Enoteca Wine Bar, while meeting the makers behind each pour. Each day features a different lineup of wineries, so every visit is unique.

Slow Beverage Area

Sample coffees, wines, ciders, beers, and spirits from around the world and take part in interactive workshops — from barista and cocktail-making classes to guided tastings of agave spirits, wines, ciders, botanical beverages, coffee, and chocolate — all led by Slow Food experts from 16+ countries across the Americas.
