Mitchell, SD is excited to welcome (14) high school volleyball teams from across South Dakota and Nebraska on September 18-19, 2026.

The tournament format is Round Robin style of play with two pools. We will be playing best of 3 and rally scoring to 25 for the first 2 games and if it goes into the 3rd game, we will play to 25. At the end of pool play we will be cross bracketing the top two teams in each pool.

Awards: We will be giving team awards for 1st through 4th place. There will be championship Long Sleeve Hoodies for a 16-team roster, 2 coaches and 1 manager. The championship team will be awarded two (2) all tournament selections. There will also be awards for Most Valuable Player, Outstanding Setter, Best Defensive Player, and Team Sportsmanship. All-tournament team will consist of 15 all-tournament players. Each coach will select (1) player for the All-tournament team from their own team except for the championship team who will select (2) players.

Mitchell Sports and Events Authority

The Sports & Events Authority promotes and sells the Mitchell community, its facilities and accommodations to the sports and events marketplace for the purpose of bringing a variety of events to Mitchell, in order to improve the quality of life in the Mitchell region and to further the Mitchell economy. The Sports & Events Authority Advisory Committee reviews funding applications from organizations that are interested in bringing new events, or expanding existing events in the Mitchell community; focusing on those events that will increase overnight hotel stays in the Mitchell community. Meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of the month at 2pm in City Hall - Council Chambers.
