USA Wheelchair Handball Makes History
We’re incredibly proud to have supported the USA Wheelchair Handball Team as they made history in their journey to the inaugural Wheelchair Handball World Championship in Cairo, Egypt!
Not only did they form the first-ever U.S. wheelchair handball team, but they brought home a silver medal, defeating powerhouse Brazil along the way and falling just short to Egypt in the final. Their dedication, perseverance, and teamwork were inspiring to witness.
Special thanks to Head Coach Ford Dyke and Team Official Sarah Gascon for their leadership and vision. Auburn-Opelika Tourism is honored to have played a part in supporting their trip, and we’re excited to see what’s next as they set their sights on the Paralympics and beyond!
