Wichita was named the Best Sports-Event Host City in the 2025 SportsTravel Awards, earning the top honor over Atlanta, Boise, Charlotte, Des Moines and Milwaukee. From June 30, 2024, through July 1, 2025, Wichita hosted more than 100 sporting events, generating an estimated $61 million in economic impact. Our city welcomed national championships and major competitions across Olympic, collegiate, professional and youth sports—demonstrating Wichita’s ability to successfully host events of every size and level.
