JERSEY CITY, NJ – Yana Wilson of Henderson, Nevada, shot a final round stableford score of 147 to win the inaugural Mizuho Americas Open at Liberty National Golf Club.

Wilson carded five birdies throughout her final round to secure her third AJGA victory. At No. 5 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Wilson is verbally committed to play golf at the University of Oregon following her high school graduation in 2024. Wilson is also a 2021 First-team Rolex Junior All-American.

“To win this event was really meaningful to me. Especially since it’s the first year of the event and we are playing alongside the pros it adds a little bit more pressure, but I had a lot of fun and it meant a lot to win.”

The Mizuho Americas Open provided the opportunity for 24 of the top junior golfers to compete alongside the 120-player LPGA field for their own individual title.

This unique format marks the first time the AJGA and the LPGA have partnered to showcase the stars of today competing inside-the-ropes with the future of the game, creating an unprecedented week of education and access to inspire the next generation of LPGA Tour players.

For the LPGA event, AJGA alumni and two-time Rolex Junior Player of the Year, Rose Zhang, conquered the title in her debut as a professional. Zhang is the first player to win while making their pro debut on the LPGA Tour since Beverly Hanson in 1951.

During her AJGA days, Zhang was a five-time Rolex Junior All-American (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020).
