McKinney Art House, established in 2005, is a colorful home for creativity, and a place to enrich your artistic side. We offer art and pottery classes for all kids, teens and adults. We have weekly art and pottery classes, summer camps, birthdays and art parties, workshops and homeschool art classes.

McKinney Piano & Voice Academy having taught over 5,000 students since we opened in the March of 2000. Private piano and voice lessons, theory of music, music history, musical theater, recitals, festivals, piano and vocal competitions, music summer camps. In 2005, the founder Mrs. Groysman brought the idea to McKinney Repertory Theatre to make the Children’s Summer Musical Theater Camp where she worked as a vocal coach in the production of The Music Man, Jr. Also she produced musicals as The Wizard of Oz, Annie, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music. She is a member of: Plano Music Teachers Association Texas (PMTA), Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA), Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

Diggin' It is a hip garden, home, and art shop located near the main square in historic downtown McKinney, Texas. Drop by from around 10:00am - 5:00pm Tuesday-Saturday to browse through an eclectic selection of far-out flora, funky garden goods, hip house stuff and MORE - all located in a former Greyhound bus station and yard that has been renovated and refunkified.

Diggin' It

The Cove is a place for creatives to be together, to have a conversation, to explore ideas. Member artists contribute to monthly expenses, and their work is displayed during every event. Art shows are free and open to the public and are almost every weekend. Come enjoy the art, the artists, the dialogue, and the experience. The Cove is a program of the Arts and Music Guild, a non-profit begun in 2010. The Cove began as an idea and became a reality when a local developer offered about twenty artists a warehouse space for minimal rent in downtown McKinney. A pooling of resources and a lot of sweat equity resulted in the first show opening in July 2016.

Jump into Art Studios is a magical and special arts and crafts art house located just off the downtown square on Church and Lamar streets (look for the prayer flags on the wrap around porch). Wonderful, engaging and varied kid and adult workshops, classes and camps that include soap making, pottery making, glass and mosaics, painting, sculpting and the list goes on.

Historical background: The Heard-Craig Art Center & Museum was originally a home for the Stephen Heard family but today, it is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Many friends, family, and community came here to do business and were welcomed warmly and with open arms, as are welcomed today. Kathryn Heard’s legacy includes the formation of the Art Club of McKinney, includes being a president of the Owl Club, and she was the first woman appointed to the Board of Austin College, a leadership role of which she was most proud. The Heard-Craig Art Center & Museum was established in 1970 as a gift to the many organizations and clubs that needed a place to hold their educational meetings. Today, we are stewards of her vision; our annual philanthropy (the gift of free meeting space) is generously assisted by the community who visit for tours and provide volunteer service to maintain the historic property. We extend an invitation to everyone to stop by and visit the museum and visit our ART O MAT, the only one in this region of Texas. The Art-O-Mat is a vintage cigarette machine that has been repurposed to dispense collectible, original art from over 400 artists around the world. The machine is very popular among small children who like to pull the handles and open the art boxes. The Art O Mat is located in the Heard-Craig Carriage House which is a few steps from the ”Hunt Lot 1” Trolley stop in downtown McKinney. Heard-Craig Center for the Arts

The Heard-Craig Art Center & Museum is a Smithsonian Affiliated Museum in downtown McKinney. The Heard Museum was a home first, built in the year 1900. This historic space was lived in and welcomed many friends, family, and community during their lives and ownership. Kathryn brought the art club to Texas and she was the first woman appointed to the board of Austin College. She was leading the way for individuals to express their talents, passion, and accomplish goals beyond! The Heard-Craig Art Center & Museum (Women’s Club Trust) was established in 1970 when Kathryn passed. She left her art and heart to the legacy that we stand in today! With 54 years of service, we hold special memories of many in the community and those who traveled in to have the opportunity to create their story here with us in the beauty that she created and left.

We have the Art-O-Mat which is a vintage machine repurposed for collectible art hence the Art-O-Mat! People travel all over the world and to McKinney to add to their art collections! Our non-profit organization services 26 clubs and over 1200 in the community to learn and gather. The Heard Craig Art Center & Museum has private parking in downtown McKinney with a private garden, gazebo, and Carriage House. The private garden & Carriage House venue space is available to rent and our main house Museum offers group tours, luncheons, bridal tea, baby showers, and more!
