We’re a community of runners, hikers, bikers and ballplayers. We’re an outdoor playground, designed by Mother Nature, with class III and IV rapids running right through our downtown. A 52-mile bike trail runs along the James. The Richmond Marathon and Ukrop’s 10k are huge celebrations, and the whole region comes out to cheer on our local teams. Eight acres in size, DeJarnette Park is located on Stony Run and is bordered by residential uses on both sides. Primary access to the park is at the end of Race Course Street. There is an alternate entrance but no parking at the end of Beverly Road. A one-acre pond underwent rehabilitation in 2006. Otherwise, the site remains largely in a natural state.

DeJarnette Park

This center offers studio and meeting space for artists, musicians and community groups. Its neoclassical architecture provides a large, open ballroom, soaring windows and ceilings, and an elegant exterior and lawn that provides a perfect backdrop for memorable events.
