The 135-acre park extends across both sides of the river, with separate north and south entrances providing parking and access to picnic areas, trails and views of one of the Eau Claire area’s most recognizable natural landmarks.

Visitors should use caution around the river, rocks and waterfall, as water levels and currents can change. Swimming is at your own risk, and all posted beach closures and water-quality advisories should be followed. Dogs are not permitted in Big Falls County Park.

Big Falls County Park

Beaver Creek Reserve brings hiking, wildlife watching and hands-on environmental education together across 400 acres just outside Eau Claire in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. Nearly nine miles of trails pass through upland woods, river-bottom forests, wetlands and savanna, with Beaver Creek and two small trout streams winding through the property. Start inside the Wise Nature Center, then explore the reserve at your own pace or plan a visit around the seasonal Butterfly House, a nature program or an evening at Hobbs Observatory.

- Nearly nine miles of hiking trails, with individual routes ranging from approximately one-half mile to two miles
- Wise Nature Center with interactive exhibits about Wisconsin plants, animals and habitats
- Seasonal Butterfly House, generally open from early July through Labor Day
- Hobbs Observatory with free public stargazing on select Saturday evenings from May through October
- Two Nature Nook outdoor play areas

Visitors should check in at the Wise Nature Center before heading onto the trails to pay any applicable entrance fees and review current trail conditions. Dogs and other pets are not permitted on the property or trails, although service animals are welcome. Bicycles and motorized vehicles are also prohibited on the trails.

Formally Apple Tree Inn, AVEnue orchard was established in 2007 by Ron and Shelly Knutson and family. Located just south of Eau Claire on Highway 53 this family owned & operated orchard offers 26 apple varieties throughout the growing season as well as 2 varieties of pears. Open 7 days a week, during apple season, from 9am-6pm from August- November. We offer pre-picked apples, pick your own, and fresh apple cider. We also carry a full line of canned products. We can our products in small batches using quality ingredients. Check out our varieties of jams, jellies, butters, sauces, and pie filling. Come for an hour or spend the afternoon in our quiet, family friendly orchard. Enjoy our picnic area, yard games, and animals.
