The Downtown Artist Gallery is an art gallery located in Downtown Fresno that displays a collection of the work of local artists around Fresno County.

In 1997, visual artists Robert Katsusuke Ogata helped establish the Downtown Artists Group in Fresno where he maintains a studio and paints full time. The group began ArtHop by opening their studios to the public once a month. This has grown into a city-wide event. He has also collaborated with Piet Ogata and Tim Padilla on the Downtown Artists Gallery to provide exhibition space to local artists. The studio and gallery are open for ArtHop on the first Thursday of each month and by appointment.

Born in Chicago Illinois, Dixie Salazar is an artist and writer who has shown her work extensively in the Central Valley of California and in San Francisco, Merced, Las Vegas, Oregon and New York as well as other locations. She has had numerous one person shows in Fresno as well as Merced, Turlock, Monterey and Las Vegas, Nevada. A major show at Arte Americas in Fresno in 2006 explored Mayan ideology that was reflected in her painted collages. Dixie has won many awards for her artwork, including a number of Best of Shows, First and Second places in juried shows throughout California. Her latest one person show took place at the Fig Tree Gallery in Fresno, CA in 2021. Dixie has also published seven books of poetry and two novels. In 2023, Dixie received a California Arts Council Fellowship for her art and writing contributions. Dixie has a studio and gallery downtown at 654 Van Ness Avenue, Fresno, California 93721.

Silva Salazar Studios

Valdez Hall is a grand venue offering groups maximum flexibility and the freedom to create the perfect setting for special events. This multi-purpose, 32,000 square-foot hall is column free, has an attached full service kitchen, a 20′ x 30′ built-in performance stage, two green rooms and is great value for a venue of its size. From weddings to banquets to staged events and expositions, the Valdez Hall is well suited for large celebrations, both public and private.

Corridor 2122 is a collectively run art gallery attached to the Corridor Studios complex. The nine Corridor Studios tenants are responsible for all aspects of the gallery, from curation to maintenance. Shows change regularly with curatorial duties rotating among the members. Exhibitions range from individual and group member shows to curated exhibitions of invited regional and local artists.

Fig Tree Gallery is the oldest artist collective in California. Located in Fresno, California, the gallery has over twenty members whose works range from sculpture, painting, mixed media, and illustrations.

The 12th Annual Lady Apache Invitational is a premier girls wrestling tournament hosted by Sanger Wrestling at Sanger High School. Taking place January 16–17, 2027, this two-day event brings together top junior varsity and varsity wrestlers from across the region for a competitive showcase of skill and sportsmanship. Hosted by Sanger Wrestling, the tournament features multiple weight classes, elite coaching, and a supportive environment designed to highlight rising talent and foster growth in the sport.
