Pincushion Mountain Peak is a 2.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Friant, California that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October. Out and back hiking trail of moderate difficulty leading to the lakeshore popular with birders.

This historic landmark located at Millerton Lake Recreation Area was Fresno County's first courthouse. This courthouse was used from the years 1866 to 1874. The views are breathtaking and make for a great photo spot overlooking the water.

Millerton Lake State Recreation Area is a California State Park located in the San Joaquin Valley of California. Millerton Lake is a reservoir on the San Joaquin River, occurring between Fresno and Madera counties, in the town of Friant. The park is ten minutes from Fresno. Millerton Lake is a federal water storage facility, which was formed by the construction of the Friant Dam in 1944, and given to the National Park Service to manage. In the mid-1950’s, the California Division of Beaches and Parks assumed management of the recreation at Millerton Lake.

We are open daily 12:00 - 5:00pm for wine tasting and relaxing. Child friendly and dog friendly for friendly dogs. We offer a seated tasting experience with flights that change monthly. Reservations are preferred and recommended throughout the week and the weekends require them. We will accept walk-in customers provided we have the space. We do offer tables and chairs for socializing with the opportunity to enjoy a bottle or glass of wine. We can accommodate parties up to 10 guests for wine tasting. Large groups can make arrangements to relax and enjoy wine, however wine tasting cannot be provided. Please contact the tasting room for accommodations. We are partnered with the San Joaquin River Parkway Conservation Trust who owns the 76 acres of riverfront property. Hiking, Bicycling, Bird Watching and Fishing are highly encouraged and are open to the public. Property gate closes at 4:45pm.

The Ruth McKenzie Table Mountain Preserve (2960 acres) is located between Friant and Prather, on the north side of Auberry Road. The McKenzie Preserve is primarily grassland and oak woodland that slopes upward toward the basalt lava table lands that give the preserve its name. Most hikes on the preserve include a climb to the top of the table formation, where visitors can enjoy spectacular views of the San Joaquin River drainage and the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Park at the River Center and walk, run or bike along the Lewis S. Eaton Trail. The six-mile trail can be accessed with a starting point at either the River Center or at Woodward Park. Find drinking fountains, benches, picnic tables and a restroom at the River Center. Also access the Hidden Homes Nature Trail from this point of the Lewis S. Eaton Trail.

At the River Center you can connect with the culture and natural history of the San Joaquin River through art and educational exhibits, programs and activities, gardens and links to pedestrian and bike trails.There is something for everyone at the River Center. Programs like storytelling, river-inspired art workshops, readings by local authors, gardening classes and kids' crafts keep the place bustling with activity year-round.The River Center has a restored 1890's ranch house, rose garden, orchard, vineyard and picnic area. The grounds and historic ranch house are available to rent for business meetings.Visit the River Store in the historic ranch house to purchase unique gifts.
