The Ypsilanti Freighthouse is a city-owned structure managed by the City of Ypsilanti, and formerly managed by the Friends of the Ypsilanti Freighthouse (FOYF). The Freighthouse can be rented out as a venue space for weddings, community events, and other occasions. Rentals include use of facility tables, chairs, and access to more resources depending on your preferred rental package.

Schultz Outfitters operates a fly shop located in Ypsilanti's historic Depot Town on the banks of the Huron River. The store stocks the fly fishing gear you need for a successful day on the water – whether near or far. In addition to gear, they also carry one of the most comprehensive inventory of fly tying supplies in Michigan. The shop also serves as the hub for educational programs, including casting lessons, workshops, and classes. Schultz Outfitters also offers fly tying instruction for all skill levels.

The annual Michigan Summer Beer Festival is an outdoor, two day event held in Ypsilanti’s Historic Depot Town and sponsored by the Michigan Brewer’s Guild. The event allows visitors to sample 100 Michigan brewers offering over 1,000 different beer samples.

Riverside is a 16 acre park on the Huron River in the center of Ypsilanti, linking downtown and Depot Town. It is the home to various events. Between these events, it hosts activities such as bicycling, dog walking, picnicking, fishing, and sunbathing. The park is part of the Washtenaw County Border to Border Trail as well as part of the Huron River Water Trail.

A universal design play structure was installed in December 2018, in honor of local leader, Liz Dahl MacGregor. Parking is available on the north end of the park, off Cross Street, just west of the river from 7am to 8pm; parking is also available to the south of the park, accessed via an alley just west of 6 W Michigan.
