Located along the B2B Trail in Dexter-Huron Metropark, the Title IX Plaza is a joint project between WCPARC and HWPI. This project honors the impact of Title IX legislation on women’s sports in southeast Michigan.

The site, which is approximately 60’ X 90 feet in size, lies 275 feet west of the Huron River and immediately south of this B2B Trail segment traversing an oxbow in the river. A mature oak grove establishes the project boundary on the south and east of the site, while a tall grass prairie defines the western edge.

Dexter-Huron Metropark is a heavily wooded 122-acre park with picnicking facilities along the Huron River.

Get out into nature and experience the rich ecosystems along the Huron River. The dense woodlands, open fields and gently flowing waters are home to a variety of unique plants and animals. Spend the day picnicking, biking, fishing, paddling the Huron River or enjoying the labyrinth.

Play equipment, fishing, restrooms and baseball diamond. Three picnic shelters are available and can be reserved. Metropark vehicle entry permit required.

Ron Jeffries is responsible for Northern United Brewing Company’s Jolly Pumpkin line of beers brewed in Dexter, MI. He also collaborates with the North Peak family. As brewmaster, Ron’s goal is worldwide recognition as a brewer and creator of beers of outstanding art and grace, a philosopher of things beery, and an outspoken advocate of the slower, finer life.

Every step of the brewing process at Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales is carefully considered to bring about the most complex and refined beers imaginable. As a result of this dedication, most of their beers will continue to mature and mellow for quite some time when cellared at home.

About 3/4 of a mile of river shoreline makes up the entire southern edge of this little gem, and almost all of the property is forested with both rich floodplain forest and drier mature uplands. Start exploring and you'll find some surprises tucked into the woods: sunny little sedge meadows, two prairie remnants along the railroad tracks, and a stone tepee ring that was built by the former owners.

Located within the state Natural Rivers Protection Zone, this land has been a wildlife area since 1980. While a popular destination for fly fishing, bird-watching and nature study, the property is valuable from a historical perspective as well. Portions of an old mill dam and race provide evidence of the sites former use and are an important reminder of the water-powered past of local area industry.

Burns-Stokes Preserve

​Located in the Village of Dexter, Michigan the Dexter Area Historical Museum serves as western Washtenaw County's link with history. The museum is housed in the former St. Andrew's United Church of Christ built in 1883. In addition to numerous artifacts, the museum contains a large display area, a genealogical library, a local history library and the Corner Gift Shop. The museum is open May - November on Friday and Saturday afternoons.
