The site features over 30 historic structures that showcase the evolution of Southern culture and architecture. Visitors can experience the daily life of the Scots-Irish and African-American communities through interactive historical activities and period clothing demonstrations.

Key highlights include the American Revolutionary War battlefield of Huck’s Defeat, complete with a documentary on the 1780 battle, and the “Liberty & Resistance: Reconstruction and the African-American Community at Brattonsville, 1865-1877” exhibit in the restored Brick House.
