The Challenger Series provides valuable competitive opportunities for riders both affiliated and unaffiliated with PBR Teams rosters, while serving as a direct pathway to the sport’s highest level. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Top 40 riders in the Ram Challenger Series standings will qualify for the Challenger Championship, held in conjunction with the PBR Teams Championship in Las Vegas. Select top-finishing riders in the final Challenger Series standings earn automatic positions in 2027 PBR Unleash The Beast events.

2026 RAM Challenger Series

The Summit Classic is a two-day power soccer invitational hosted by Turnstone on December 5–6, 2026, at the Turnstone Plassman Athletic Center. Open to all United States Power Soccer Association teams, the competition guarantees every team four games, with potential cross-division matchups depending on registration. Games begin Saturday morning and conclude Sunday afternoon.

Power soccer is the first competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for power wheelchair users. Athletes' disabilities include quadriplegia, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, arthrogryposis and many others. The game is played in a gymnasium on a regulation basketball court. Two teams of four players attack, defend, and spin-kick a 13-inch soccer ball in a skilled and challenging game similar to able-bodied soccer.

United States Power Soccer Association 

Turnstone hosts the 2027 Junior Regional Qualifier, an NWBA-sanctioned wheelchair basketball tournament for Prep and Varsity teams on January 16–17, 2027, at the Turnstone Plassman Athletic Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Teams are guaranteed three games in a seeded tournament, with one or two bids to the 2027 NWBA National Championships available depending on participation.

2027 Junior Regional Qualifier

Founded in 1948, the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) provides qualified individuals with physical disabilities the opportunity to play, learn and compete in the sport of wheelchair basketball. The NWBA values unequivocal excellence in all aspects of the organization; we strive for excellence with integrity and respect; we recognize our rich tradition as a solid foundation; we celebrate the development of our members and our community; and we believe in the pursuit of competitive excellence always. The NWBA is the longest standing and largest Disabled Sports Organization (DSO) in the world. Currently, the NWBA serves over 2,300 individual players, and 210 teams. These players include men, women, youth, and veterans who have a physical disability. Wheelchair basketball is played at various skill and competition levels.

A collaboration model has been developed and adopted by the NWBA. The basic premise of this model is that the non-profit, private, and public sectors will leverage their respective strengths in an effort to attain the NWBA’s fund raising goal. In addition, funds for identified priorities will include contributions from multiple partners. No single entity will be responsible for funding a project. The goal is to fund these community priorities through collaboration.Key Affiliations include: USA Basketball, National Basketball Association (NBA), United States Olympic Committee (USOC), USA Paralympics, and International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF). In addition, the NWBA has partnerships with the Lakeshore Foundation and SPIRE Institute - officially designated USOC and USA Paralympic Training Sites. We are also involved with college programs in eight universities that allows members to be student athletes....many with basketball scholarships. Universities include the University of Texas, Illinois, Missouri, Alabama and Auburn


National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA)

The 19th Annual Bob Chase Frostbite Classic is a sled hockey tournament hosted by Turnstone on January 23–24, 2027, at PSM Icehouse in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Teams are guaranteed four games, with a maximum of 10 teams and possible cross-conference matchups depending on registration.
