In 2023, the City of Vancouver became the steward of the former community library building at 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd. The City’s Culture, Arts and Heritage Commission saw this as an incredible opportunity to create a much-needed arts hub in a space that is already important to the community. The eye-catching building is well-suited to host a variety of activities and events. It is located near educational resources like the Historic Reserve and the Downtown Arts District, offering opportunities for community partnerships and space for an arts ecosystem to flourish. The building can provide space for community meetings, classes, workshops and rehearsals that support arts and culture in Vancouver. In its current condition, there is an occupancy limit of 49 people.

George C. Marshall House

Built as quarters for the post commander in 1886, the Marshall House was named for General George C. Marshall who served as Commander of Vancouver Barracks from 1936-38. This elegant Queen Anne Victorian home is filled with antique furniture and will take you back in time.

Where else in the Northwest can you stroll past 22 preserved Victorian homes on the National Historic Register? Built in the mid-to-late 1800s, these beautifully restored homes were built to house U.S. Army officers stationed at Vancouver Barracks. The Grant House, built in 1850, now houses Willful Winery, a woman-owned winery that began in the Dundee Hills in Oregon. Relax on their wrap around porch with a flight or a glass of wine and small bites. The Grant House and the Marshall House, built in 1886, offers tours and an exhibit on General George C. Marshall, it’s most famous resident.

Constructed in 1879, Civil War General Oliver Otis Howard and his family were the first of many to enjoy the house's traditional wrap-around porch and intimate courtyard. Fort Vancouver has a long history of hosting cross country events dating back to 2001 when it was selected as the site for the USA Men’s and Women’s National Championships/World Cross Country Trials. The Fort Vancouver course is a rolling, European-style layout consisting of two kilometer loops on grass. The moderately challenging course features sections of flat, uphill and downhill grades, providing the necessary variation expected in a national championship competition.

USTA PNW NTRP Sectional Championships

Established in 1904, the USTA Pacific Northwest is one of 17 sections of the United States Tennis Association, the governing body of tennis. Based in Beaverton, Oregon, the USTA PNW is a 501c3 charitable nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and develop the growth of tennis in the Pacific Northwest.  Operating in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and northern Idaho USTA PNW over 25,000 individual adult and junior members and over 200 organization members and providers, such as tennis facilities and community tennis associations, who also help us to promote the sport.
