Independence Lake County Park offers a multitude of recreational activities for park visitors, and features diverse habitats including wetlands, prairies and great stands of oaks. The park offers a launch site for canoes, kayaks and motorized boats.

The park is among the best destinations in southern Michigan for diverse, beautiful natural areas that are carefully balanced with year-round recreational offerings.

Highlights include Blue Heron Bay (spray park), a beautiful beach and swimming area, boat rentals, playgrounds, the Red Hawk Disc Golf Courses, hiking trails, groomed cross-country (X-C) ski trails, and ice fishing in the winter.

Independence Lake's universally-accessible Blue Heron Bay spray park is the perfect place for some fun in the sun! Whether you are playing on the water play structure, gliding down our new water slides, or just catching some shade in our rentable pavilions, there is something for everyone!

Your kids will be sure to have a great adventure with our water jet spider, cattails, and buckets. Their concessions area is a great place to take a break from all the excitement while enjoying a hot meal and a cold drink. Guest amenities include first aid services, family changing rooms, showers, diaper changing stations and coin lockers.

Blue Heron Bay Spray Park

Whitmore Lake Golf Links is a 18 hole Championship Bill Newcomb Signature design golf course located in Whitmore Lake just 10 miles north of Ann Arbor and 13 miles south of Brighton just off of US-23.

Located on 254 acres with two different style 9’s to enjoy, the front nine will give you the Links style play with rolling hills, plenty of water and tall heather grass and the back 9 will give you the Up North scenic, tree lined fairways and challenging play.

Their facility includes a practice green, practice bunker and driving range with lessons and clinics available.

Whitmore Lake Preserve's trails let visitors explore diverse habitats, including, meadows, mixed hardwood forest, and wooded wetlands, with scenic views over a large marsh and small lakes.

Whitmore Lake Preserve

Historic Webster Village is composed of seven historic buildings and is located at 5583 Webster Church Road in Webster Township just outside of Dexter, Michigan. It is owned and maintained by the Webster Township Historical Society. Donations and membership dues provide the funds for maintaining these historic buildings.

Through years of tireless and selfless effort on the part of many individuals and organizations, Historic Webster Village is preserved in a state much as it was in the late 1800s. This Village gives one a sense of strong and steadfast life values and an abundant measure of community pride all nurtured in tranquility. It is truly a treasure to be enjoyed!

- Our grounds are often used by groups of fresh-air painters, for festivals, flea markets and bazaars, as a back-drop for graduation photos, or as a site for holiday greeting card photos.
- Podunk School, a one-room, award winning structure, would be the perfect place for school children to visit and sped a day in the late 1800s.
- The Old Town Hall would be an ideal site in which a Civics class could hold a “township meeting” as in days gone by.
- May’s Old North Barn can be rented for square or contra dancing. With it’s sky blue ceiling and electric lighting, a farm market or family reunion could be held inside.
- Our Crossroads Community Center is the perfect place for classes/workshops, birthday or anniversary parties, wedding or baby showers, and much more.

Historic Webster Village

This 13-acre preserve is unusual in that the donor stipulated there to be no active management such as trail installations, invasive species removal, or restoration of the land. The site may be used to observe long term change without human disturbance.

While there is no trail system, wildlife have created paths throughout the small meadow and woodland. Brookwater and Boyden Creeks meet in the woodland and follow the southern border, eventually connecting to the Huron River. Visit the preserve to observe the unimpeded succession of land.

The Woodland Nature Preserve was anonymously donated to Legacy Land Conservancy in 2002.

The Michigan Sailing Club provides a sailing facility to University of Michigan students, faculty, staff, alumni, the Michigan Sailing Team, and the community. The club is housed at a waterfront clubhouse on Baseline Lake in Dexter. Beginner lessons are provided, as well as skills clinics and races for experienced sailors.

Nestled in a quiet bend of the Huron River, Delhi Metropark offers natural beauty to enjoy. You’ll find mature stands of oak trees, open lawns and well-maintained ecosystems along the water that herons, turtles and deer call home.

Trails in Delhi Metropark are paved, mostly flat with minimal grade changes.

Come relax in the fresh air with family and friends under our picnic shelter or give kids the space to explore on our playground. Start a bike ride from the park or explore the river by canoe or kayak.

Delhi Metropark

This public golf course in Whitmore Lake features 18 holes and 3 sets of tees for all levels of golfer. While it does not have a pro-shop on site, it does feature a driving range.

Rolling Meadows Country Club

Here you will experience a high-quality woodlot, wooded wetlands, about 10 acres of active farmland, and an area in transition from former farm fields to woods. The property contains numerous vernal ponds, which provide valuable habitat for amphibians. Ferns and wild geraniums are abundant throughout most of the woodland. Another feature of the property is a large stand of shagbark hickory trees found at the northeast edge of the woods. Trail Length: 1.9 miles (natural, unpaved)
