The RecPlex is more than a sports center — it is a one-of-a-kind destination that promises to enhance the quality of life for Central Iowans of all ages and abilities. The City of West Des Moines built a unique partnership with the local, private sector to address the demand for a regional, indoor sports facility that provides year-round access and the opportunity for our growing youth sports programs. This unique facility has something for everyone, from indoor ice, turf, and court spaces to meeting rooms, Esports, special events spaces, and more.

The Recplex includes:
-150,000 sq. ft. turf and hard court fieldhouse (basketball, volleyball, and synthetic turf fields)
-Hy-Vee fieldhouse features 3 full-size basketball courts or six full-size volleyball courts on solid maple hardwood. Each court includes a scoreboard, shot clocks, and seating. 
-The fourth court features a full-size basketball court or two full-size volleyball courts on Plastic poured-in-place flooring.
-2 indoor ice arenas
-3 full size pickleball courts
-20,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, 
-30,000 sq. ft. of meeting/programming space 
-3,500 sq. ft. Esports Center with 30 high-powered PCs, six consoles, lounge seating, LED lighting, and a sound system
-3 full synthetic turf fields with lighting and wireless internet
-Warmup/batting cage area provides over 5,000 square feet of turf
-1,200 parking spots and on site bike paths / pedestrian areas
