​The Cobblestone Farm house, completed in 1845, was originally a two-family home. Benajah Ticknor, a U.S. Naval surgeon, and Heman Ticknor, whig​ politician and farmer, shared occupancy of this classic revival structure with their families. Being restored and interpreted to reflect its mid-nineteenth century appearance, the sit​​e provides a view of past rural life in Washtenaw County. Today the site is administered through Parks and Recreation Services with support from the Cobblestone Farm Association.​​​

Buhr Park is a large 39 acre park in southeastern Ann Arbor, with many recreation amenities to offer.

The park contains softball diamonds, tennis courts with a tennis ball recycling bin, a playground, an outdoor Gaga Ball​ pit, rolling open fields, a sledding hill​, and picnic facilities with grills.

The park is home to the Buhr Park Outdoor Ice Arena and Pool​. Buhr is also home to the historic Cobblestone Farm and borders Allen Elementary School.​​

Activities at Buhr Park Ice Arena include public ice skating, drop-in hockey and rental hours. The facility has a heated lobby, vending, restrooms and four separate locker rooms for hockey. Skate rentals available.

The pool features a six- lane, 25 yard pool with a deep well and a separate 0" depth entry children's wading pool with interactive play toys.

A mix of amenities can be found at the park including a playground, a basketball court, a disc golf course, a wooded nature area and a large wetland area with native flowers. The disc golf course​ is 18 holes and is a very popular attraction. There is a paved circular path, accessible from the Birch Hollow Drive parking lot, that goes around the pond and wetland area.

More than half of the 81-acre park is a wooded natural area that has tra​ils​​ meandering throughout. The trails are a mix of natural footpaths and narrow wooden boardwalks.

Get to Know Sharon Hills Nature Preserve Located on the western edge of the rolling Sharon Short Hills, the Sharon Hills Nature Preserve was shaped by glacial activity thousands of years ago during the last major period of glaciation. The hills, made up of sandy and rocky glacial debris, are an end moraine in the Jackson interlobate region.

Prior to colonization, the site likely supported oak savanna habitat and wetlands. In the late 1920s it was logged and the site of a sand pit. There is also evidence of a former homestead. Because of poor, easily eroding soils, it was used for many years as grazing land for livestock. Most recently it was used and owned by University of Michigan professors David and Ellie Shappirio, John Allen, Edith Maynard, and Sally Allen for entomology. The group donated the land to Legacy Land Conservancy in 2000 at the completion of their insect research.

This 67-acre preserve now contains a range of habitats including remnant prairie, meadows, wetlands, and oak-hickory forest. It provides a refuge for many of the upland game bird species that call Michigan home, including the wild turkey, ruffed grouse, and ring-necked pheasant.

From the parking lot the outer loop, Tolen Trail, is a good mile hike with various trails leading off the exterior loop making 2.2 miles of trail in total. We suggest you take a copy of our trails map with you when you walk, as the winding trails and convoluted landforms can be confusing. This is the only Legacy preserve where horseback riding and falconry (with a permit) are allowed.

Parking – Look for the signs on the east side of the road and park in the grassy parking area just off Sharon Hollow Road.

Georgetown Country Club has amenities for the whole family. Among their facilities are an 8 lane swimming pool with diving boards, 9 hole golf course, 9 hole FootGolf course, 4 tennis courts, and volleyball courts.

Their clubhouse, pool, golf and FootGolf courses are open for rentals to host any event.

Nelson Meade County Farm Park provides an opportunity for the whole family to experience nature on the east side of Ann Arbor. This 127 acre park is a wonderful natural area with a series of trails, gardens, and a farm-themed playground that is a local favorite!
