Riverbend Preserve

A wide, flat, slow moving section of the River Raisin meanders through Riverbend Preserve. Correspondingly, the property is approximately three-quarters wetlands. Many tamarack trees are found in the riparian zone, with poorly drained soils. The remaining acreage is comprised of dry, upland soils along Hogan Road, ten acres of which remain in agricultural production.

The northern portion of the property is bisected by the remains of the Clinton Branch of the Michigan Southern Railroad, running north to south, built in the early 1850s.
