You catch your own fish from our spring-fed, pollution-free ponds that are stocked weekly with fish grown right on the farm. Fish in their Farm-Raised Channel Catfish ponds or Rainbow Trout pond. There is even a Children's Trout pond reserved for our little anglers under 10 years old. The environment is so perfect in the ponds, they can even guarantee a catch on every outing!

Spring Valley sits on 20 acres of carefully maintained grounds in a park setting. Visitors can stroll the park which includes nine spring-fed ponds ranging from a half-acre to an acre in size. On these grounds are two covered picnic pavilions which seat up to 100 people each, a children's play area and an authentic American log cabin used as a fishing lodge with handicap restrooms.

Spring Valley Trout Farm

With its diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife and endless recreational opportunities, Pinckney Recreation Area is a must-visit destination for campers, mountain bikers, anglers and other recreation enthusiasts. Nestled amidst rolling hills and serene lakes, the landscape features a terminal moraine area formed during the last glaciation period.

Pinckney is known for its extensive trail system and chain of excellent fishing lakes. More than 40 miles of multi-use trail take visitors through lush forests and along sparkling lakes. For the ultimate backcountry experience, pitch a tent at one of the remote campsites scattered throughout the area.

The 11,00-acre park is a large park and fairly spread out. The park features two main day-use areas: Silver Lake and Halfmoon Lake units, where visitor enjoy picnicking, swimming, boating and relaxing by the water.

Pinckney Recreational Area

With scenic views and a rural setting, West Lake Preserve is one of NAPP's most tranquil properties. Trails take you through a wide range of ecosystems, such as upland forests, wetlands, open water shorelines, and open fields.

Bring your binoculars-the diversity of habitats attracts numerous types of birds, including sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, belted kingfishers, and eastern bluebirds, a bald eagle has even been spotted several times!

The forested area of West Lake Preserve consists of mature oak and hickory trees with some portions having sandy soil dry enough for blueberry bushes and bracken fern to grow. Other portions of the property are very wet. A buttonbush swamp provides protection for young reptiles and various amphibians as they mature.

West Lake Preserve

Located in the hilly northwestern corner of the county, Park Lyndon contains one of southern Michigan's finest natural areas. Over 500 species of plants are found in a wide variety of habitats including fens, marshes, bogs, ponds, forest, and prairie.

Two miles of marked nature trails wind through the steep, glacially sculpted hillsides, connecting to the state's Waterloo-Pinkney Trail for a combined hiking experience of almost 50 miles.

Park Lyndon

The DTE Energy Foundation Trail is a single-track, trail located in southeast Michigan. It's known for mountain biking, running, hiking and cross-country skiing are allowed too.

Known as a bike-optimized "flow trail,” the surface is mechanically cut to create highly structured grades and outslopes. The loops cover varying terrain and experience levels, including technical, downhill and climbing features. Many call the trail "**Michigan's dirt rollercoaster**!"

The trail consists of four loops, including the Green Lake Loop (5.2 miles), Big Kame Loop (4.8 miles, Winn Loop (8 miles) and Sugar Loop (4 miles). Sugar Loop is the newest section and the most technical.

The trail is located seven miles north of Chelsea on M52 in Waterloo Recreation Area, just 30 minutes west of Ann Arbor.

The Dexter Blueberry Farm is a "u-pick" farm where visitors can come and pick their own berries! Once a farm of wild blueberries, the land was cultivated in the 1960s and has been expanded several times since.

Come visit and spend some quality time outdoors picking the best blueberries.

CAHS endeavors to properly collect, manage, display, and maintain area artifacts, archival information, photographs, genealogy records, and oral histories of local citizens. Through their museum and organization events, CAHS provides historical education opportunities for residents and visitors.
