Known for its stunning views of Lake Michigan along with its dunes, forested trails, boardwalks and natural beaches, Rosy Mound is a 164-acre property about 45 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids.

Rosy Mound is a classic Great Lakes dune system including high wooded dunes, foredunes, beach and a dune blowout (a sandy depression). A 0.7-mile hiking trail from the parking area to the Lake Michigan shoreline includes 1,000 feet of stairs up and down the dunes and scenic views. A unique shade canopy, dune boardwalk trail and rustic toilets are located near the swimming beach. There are modern restrooms near the parking area. Dogs are not allowed.

Rosy Mound Natural Area is an Ottawa County Park requiring a parking permit from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Annual permits are $25; daily permits are $8.
