Youth and Amateur Sports Generates $90.8M Economic Impact in West Michigan for 2024

Youth and amateur sports had a banner year in 2024, generating $90.8 million in estimated economic impact for West Michigan. 2025 should prove to be another exciting year, with expansion of the Meijer Sports Complex, pitching future events to be held at the new Amway Stadium, and hosting a variety of national tournaments including the 2025 World Ice Fishing Championships in February and The Hartford Nationals by Move United in July.

This year we are celebrating 15 years of the Meijer State Games of Michigan! This weekend kicks off the games with Pickleball, Beach Wrestling, Paintball, and Bowling.

MJVBA Championships

This weekend, the MJVBA Championships take place! This tournament will take place at Devos Place, as well as 10 other locations around the city of Grand Rapids.

Tomorrow is the start of a weekend FULL of soccer as Midwest United Soccer puts on their annual United Spring Classic from April 19th-21st! This boys and girls tournament offers 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 formats. The 2024 Meijer LPGA Classic by Simply Give Returns to Blythefield Country Club

We are thrilled to have the 2024 Meijer LPGA Classic by Simply Give back in Grand Rapids this summer! As one of the official stops of the LPGA Tour, this event features 144 of the top female golfers in the world. Occurring from June 13th through the 16th, this will be the 10th anniversary of the Meijer LPGA Classic where proceeds help stock the shelves of food pantries across the Midwest. Blythefield Country Club will be filled with excitement throughout the week with events ranging from the Junior Clinic to the 5k Run and Walk. With a $3 Million purse on the line and 72-holes of stroke play to occur, the 2024 Meijer LPGA Classic is a must-see event.
