Things to do in the area
1st on the list would be to catch a Texas Tech sporting event. With 17 sports competing at the NCAA D1 level you can catch some type of event no matter what time of the year it is. Additionally, Lubbock is considered to be the wine capital of Texas with 90% of Texas grapes being grown in the 30 mile radius that surrounds town. Lubbock boasts over 10 local wineries all of which have their own unique setting. Lubbock also is a huge live music town as it should be being the birthplace of music legend Buddy Holly. In early 2021 Buddy Holly Hall opened up as one of the best music & art facilities in the country. Lubbock also has numerous attractions & Museums including the National Ranching Heritage Center, American Windmill Museum, and Silent Wings Museum.
Travel details
Lubbock International Airport is serviced by American, Southwest, and United Airlines. With Daily direct flights to and from such cities as Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, Phoenix, Denver, and Las Vegas. Additionally, Interstate 27 runs through Lubbock as well as Texas State highways 87, 84, 62, 82, and 114.
