Pulaski County's evolving mission to optimize its sports, entertainment, and recreational assets for its citizens, visitors, and business community is underway. With a variety of both modern and historic venues and traditions, including minor league baseball at Calfee Park, racing at Pulaski County Motorsports Park, and watersports on Claytor Lake, sports and entertainment has a significant impact on the local economy. In the Summer of 2026, Pulaski County will welcome the Sportsplex, which will be Virginia’s largest versatile indoor sports and entertainment complex and expo center.

Named after Count Casimir Pulaski, who is credited with saving the life of George Washington more than two centuries ago, Pulaski County sits in the New River Valley teeming with natural beauty and bountiful history. The Pulaski County area of the Blue Ridge is defined by its rolling hills and settlement by small farmers. Formed in 1839 the county covers an area of about 330 square miles and is home to the 21-mile long, man-made, Claytor Lake on the New River.
