About Florence, SC Sports

Tournaments are serious business for the Florence (SC) Area Sports Council. From esports to horseshoes—and every traditional sport in between—Florence has the facilities and expertise to host it all.

Florence’s reputation for successful sporting events is built on the strength of its high-quality venues. The City of Florence recently completed a new $15 million baseball and track complex, adding six additional baseball fields to the region’s inventory. The complex also includes Carolina Bank Field, home of the Florence Flamingos.

Built in 2017, the $7 million Florence Soccer Complex features 10 regulation-size soccer fields, two of which are lighted for evening play. While the facility regularly hosts soccer, flag football, cross country, and lacrosse events, its versatile layout allows for a wide range of athletic competitions.

The three-court Pearl Moore Gymnasium includes two synthetic courts and one hardwood court, making it an ideal venue for pickleball, basketball, volleyball, and other indoor sports.

The Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center earned both the USTA South Carolina and USTA Southern Tennis Facility of the Year awards in 2014. The center hosts the McLeod for Health Florence Open, a USTA Pro Circuit event, as well as the USTA South Carolina State Mixed Doubles Tournament. In total, the Florence Tennis Association organizes more than 20 tournaments at the facility each year.

For larger events, the Florence Center offers a 10,000-seat arena ideal for basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, and more. The venue also features elegant banquet spaces perfect for opening ceremonies and over 60,000 square feet of flexible, multi-purpose space suitable for sports conventions and large gatherings.
