Running, jumping and throwing — from the 100–3200-meter sprints and runs, 4×100-400-meter relays and 110-300-meter hurdles to the high-, long- and triple-jump events and to the shot put, discus and javelin — there simply couldn’t have been anymore activities to schedule at the 2026 Shoreline Invitational, hosted at Shoreline Stadium on May 2.

The Seattle Handball Club, a nonprofit organization based in Woodinville, hosted its 2026 Seattle Handball Cup inside the Walt Price Fitness Center at Everett Community College from April 4-5. The second annual event brought in six teams this year, three men’s and women’s each, traveling from California, Oregon, Washington state and British Columbia, Canada.

Football is back! Indoors, that is. The Washington Wolfpack kicked off the 2026 Arena Football One season against its Pacific Northwest rivals, the Oregon Lightning, at Angel Of The Winds Arena on Sunday, April 12. And after splitting games 2-2 last year, the Lightning got the best of the Wolfpack and took a one-game lead in the rivalry with a 33-16 victory.

The 2026 AAU Taekwondo PNW District Qualifier took to the mats inside Seaview Gymnasium on Edmonds College’s campus on March 28. This was the first year the tournament was held in Edmonds after being hosted in Lynnwood for several years, dating back to before 2020.

Media Release: WSSEA High School Esports State Championships return to Lynnwood

Washington State Scholastic Esports Association (WSSEA) High School Esports State Championships are returning to Lynnwood, Washington, with a new location for 2026. This year, the state championships will be at the Alderwood Mall. The WSSEA Main Event ’26 Esports will be Saturday, May 16. Thirty-two high school teams with over 250 students will battle in the finals for Overwatch, Splatoon 3 and Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Media Release: Skate America returns to Everett in 2026

U.S. Figure Skating announced that 2026 Skate America will return to Everett and be held at Angel Of The Winds Arena from November 13-15, 2026. The prestigious event is being held in partnership with the Snohomish County Sports Commission and is one of six stops in the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, bringing world-class figure skating back to the Pacific Northwest for the first time since 2018.

Recap: 2026 USA Artistic Swimming Classic Invitational

The USA Artistic Swimming (USAAS) Classic Invitational hasn’t been held in Washington state since 2024, and that year it was in Tacoma. However, this year for the first time in USAAS history, the Classic Invitational finally dipped into Snohomish County. Hosted by the Seattle Synchronized Swim Team, the event was held at the Snohomish Aquatic Center from March 21-22, and it featured more than 150 participants from six clubs, all traveling from Washington, Oregon, Colorado and British Columbia, Canada.

It’s rugby on skates. There aren’t balls or goals, but there’s plenty of blockers and bruises, which makes roller derby a great alternative contact sport. What’s even better is that Snohomish County is home to Jet City Roller Derby (JCRD), an Everett-based nonprofit organization that was established in 2006 with the mission to “improve Snohomish County by developing athletes, promoting healthy lifestyles, providing community service and partnering with local charities.”
