Davis County is home to a rich history, diverse activities and unique scenery. It might be the smallest county in landmass, but we are the third most populated county in Utah. We got our name from the early pioneer, Daniel C. Davis, and were established as a territory in 1850. Just two short years later, we officially became a county in this great state.

We’re only 20 minutes, depending on traffic, north of Salt Lake International Airport, making Utah’s amusement capital super convenient because it’s like we’re just down the road! In 2024, the Western Sports Park will be completed offering over 180,000 sq ft of floor space. Including 9 basketball or 9 volleyball courts, 17 acres of playing fields, 2,000 plus parking spaces, all on a 55 acre campus.

You might be saying, “Amusement Capital, what does that mean?” Well, this area has been filled with fun and amusement from the beginning. The famous, family-owned Lagoon Amusement Park has been thrilling visitors since it opened in 1886.

But that’s not all! Davis is filled with other popular spots, including Antelope Island State Park, where you can see over 500 wild bison freely roaming and catch the best sunsets in Northern Utah. We’re also home to 10 gorgeous golf courses, several shopping centers, over 400 dining options, and the most amusement centers in Utah. With all of that, you might consider us a summer destination, but Davis County is just a short drive to nine world-class ski resorts!
