About Visit Fargo-Moorhead

Fargo has an up-and-coming, entrepreneurial spirit to the community that you’ll notice right when you arrive. The metro area spans three cities (Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo) and two states separated by the Red River of the North.

Discover canoe parades in the fall, gorgeous wineries along the prairie, and vintage markets on Downtown streets. The rooftop patio views of the sunsets cannot be beaten, and the inspired food and crafted drinks are a perfect match. Immerse yourself in the historical Stave church and Hjemkomst Viking ship, the downtown murals, and step back in time at Bonanzaville, the pioneer village. Experience north. North of Normal.

Things to do in Visit Fargo-Moorhead

“We had no idea Fargo had all this!” This is the typical response when someone visits Fargo for the first time, to which we say “You betcha! There’s a ton of things to check out in Fargo.”

We’ve got a list a mile long (and yes, it’s a pretty flat mile) of attractions and museums, and things to do in Fargo that celebrate our culture and honor our history. Get here already and experience north of normal!

Travel details

One of the best features of Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo is the ease of getting here. Hector International Airport has five airlines with direct flights to 11 cities. Running through the sister communities of Fargo-Moorhead and acting as a natural boundary is the Red River of the North. Today the cities are the crossing point of Interstate 94 (east and west) and Interstate 29 (north and south). Because of the interstate access, it is a mere 3.5 hours to Minneapolis-St. Paul to the east, less than 4 hours to Winnipeg, Canada, to the north and less than 4 hours to Sioux Falls, SD, to the south. Amtrak and Jefferson Bus Lines also have service to and from Fargo.
