Motawi Tileworks makes handcrafted tile as art pieces and for residential and commercial installations. Owner and Artistic Director Nawal Motawi began creating historically inspired tile in her garage and selling it at the local farmers market. Demand for her work grew, and in 1992 Motawi formed The Tileworks, which came to specialize in Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts and Midcentury Modern aesthetics. In addition to its own unique designs, The Tileworks is also licensed to produce art tile based on the work of Frank Lloyd Wright and Charley Harper. Motawi art tiles are now sold in more than 300 locations in the U.S. and Canada, and Motawi tile installations grace homes and public spaces worldwide. Wing Farms was founded in 1852 by James Wing. Over 150 years and 5 generations later, the farm is still going strong. Owned and operated by Kevin Wing, the farm is comprised of 205 acres, including the homestead.Over the years, the farm has held herds of sheep, cattle and dairy cows. Today, corn, soybeans and rye are the main crops – along with our famous Giant Pumpkins. Enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch, visit the animals, and browse our selection of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, and other fall decorations.

Wing Farms

Dexter-Huron Metropark is a heavily wooded 122-acre park with picnicking facilities along the Huron River.

Get out into nature and experience the rich ecosystems along the Huron River. The dense woodlands, open fields and gently flowing waters are home to a variety of unique plants and animals. Spend the day picnicking, biking, fishing, paddling the Huron River or enjoying the labyrinth.

Play equipment, fishing, restrooms and baseball diamond. Three picnic shelters are available and can be reserved. Metropark vehicle entry permit required.

Sam Hill

This 13-acre preserve is unusual in that the donor stipulated there to be no active management such as trail installations, invasive species removal, or restoration of the land. The site may be used to observe long term change without human disturbance.

While there is no trail system, wildlife have created paths throughout the small meadow and woodland. Brookwater and Boyden Creeks meet in the woodland and follow the southern border, eventually connecting to the Huron River. Visit the preserve to observe the unimpeded succession of land.

**Parking –** Parking is along Joy Road. Please be careful exiting and accessing your vehicle

The Woodland Nature Preserve was anonymously donated to Legacy Land Conservancy in 2002.

Woodland Nature Preserve

Wetlands, which make up the majority of the site, surround a small upland woodland in the southernmost portion along Liberty.

From the trailhead at the parking area, two loop trails wind through the woods. The east loop connects with a seasonal trail that takes visitors out into the wetlands and old fields in the northern areas of the preserve.

Large bur oak and hop-hornbeam trees are notable here.

Devine Preserve

A former gravel pit, Fox Science offers a rare opportunity to explore the geology of the region. Ancient table-sized glacial boulders of granite, tillite, gneiss, and limestone are scattered around the base of the former pit. Keep your eye out for fossils in the limestone boulders.
