Virginia Opera is known and respected nationwide for the identification and presentation of the finest young artists, for the musical and dramatic integrity of its productions, and for the ingenuity and variety of its education and outreach programs.

Strauss’ Four Last Songs and Wagner’s Liebestod offer transcendent visions of love and mortality. Brahms’ Gesang der Parzen and Beethoven’s Elegischer Gesang bring choral gravitas and beauty, while the overture to Wagner’s Meistersinger opens with noble serenity.
