Within the Local Epicurean, you will find "The Local - Grand Rapids" the newly opened restaurant and bar featuring our hand made pasta, salads, numerous appetizers for sharing and a large selection of pastry that is a perfect compliment to our locally roasted organic coffee and teas.

Each guest is taught to make Pasta in the ancient Roman style.   
Our pasta chef will make enough fresh pasta or ravioli for you take home to prepare and is enough for pasta for four dinners. Sauce for the pasta is not included but a wide variety is available for purchase. Private group classes are available and may be as large as 40 guests. Reservations are required.

We are an economic generator through sports tourism for Greater Grand Rapids and Kent County in the West Michigan area.

We own and operate an award winning baseball/softball complex; the Meijer Sports Complex [www.MeijerSportsComplex.com](https://www.MeijerSportsComplex.com) featuring eight fields, including a championship field that seats 1,000.

The Resolution Run: One Last Run

December 31, 2026 marks the 44th Annual Reeds Lake Resolution Run—a New Year’s Eve tradition in East Grand Rapids. This 4-mile course around Reeds Lake is USATF certified, giving runners and walkers a fast, accurate loop to close out 2026.

The main race begins at 2:00 PM, starting near East Grand Rapids Middle School and finishing in front of Collins Park.  
The Kids Race returns at 1:30 PM for ages 12 and under, with their own course and disco-ball medals waiting at the finish.

Since 1982, when Joe O’Brien first gathered runners for this end-of-year tradition, the Resolution Run has been more than a race. It’s a moment to show up, take stock, and head into a new year with intention. Year after year, runners and walkers come out—no matter the weather—to keep it going.

We’ll do it again in 2026, and continue Joe’s legacy of giving back by supporting Guiding Light Works
