McKinney is quickly becoming the destination for sporting events in the metroplex. Each year, thousands of people come to town to participate in or cheer for a wide range of sporting events. Watch high school or collegiate football games at the McKinney ISD Stadium & Community Event Center. Cheer for your favorite lacrosse, soccer, baseball, or softball youth or adult game at various facilities around town. Or meet at The Courts Tennis Facility for a game of tennis or even a pickleball tournament. And of course, enjoy some time on the greens of a local public course or watch the pros at The CJ CUP Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch each May each year. The McKinney Monster Dash 5K, Presented by Texans Credit Union, is back on Saturday, October 31, 2026!  
  
Join us at Bonnie Wenk Park to kick off Halloween morning with a spooktacular 5K full of fun, costumes, and community spirit! Dash to the finish line to claim your Monster Dash finisher's medal and enjoy a complimentary TUPPS beer! Festivities begin at 8:00 AM, and the race kicks off at 9:00 AM!  
  
Registration Details  
Your registration includes entry into our chip-timed 5K, the official Monster Dash t-shirt, a custom race bib, and our signature finisher's medal! Costumes are encouraged to make this morning even more spooktacular. A portion of the event proceeds proudly supports our nonprofit partner, The Warriors Keep.  
  
Get Ready to Compete!  
CASH prizes will be awarded to the Top Overall Male and Female racers during our awards ceremony! The Awards Ceremony begins shortly after the race!

Stroller Strider 1st Place – $25  
  
PLUS awards for the top male and female in each age group: 14 & under, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+.  
  
Festival Fun All Morning Long!  
Enjoy a lively, family-friendly celebration featuring local vendors, festive photo opportunities, music, and a costume contest presented by Whataburger with prizes including free Whataburger for a year! This is one of McKinney's most spooky and fun community events and is perfect for all ages.
