Modern West is a gallery created by Diane Stewart to support established and emerging contemporary artists who, in compelling and varied ways, reframe our understanding of the West. Through thoughtful exhibitions, the gallery illuminates both new and historical bodies of work that are relevant and meaningful for today's audiences. The gallery aspires to support the local community through informative events. Shalee Cooper, Liberty Blake, Rennie Stewart and Tylor Pilcher are excited to engage the community to gather in the space and experience art with a contemporary influence.

Modern West

In October 10, 2025, we celebrated the opening of our 1974 Bookstore "Tiny Bookshop" a cozy brick and mortar, serving the wonderful Pioneer Park, Rio Grande and Post District neighborhoods, as an extension of our mobile book cart. We welcome you to come visit and spend time in our cozy space; we offer several pockets of seating, free WiFi and ready to drink and eat beverages and snacks. In addition our bookstore is located within walking or biking distance to several local coffee shops, restaurants and and our Historic Pioneer Park. ​

We have moved to 131 South Main Street. We are right inside the front doors of The Eccles Theater in a lovely new spot we can't wait to share with you!

Warmly hip servers present exquisitely crafted European fare emphasizing local ingredients at this little gem inside Eccles Theater. The adorable mismatched china, delightful cocktails and beautiful view of the theater all add to the charm. Reservations sometimes necessary.

Tin Angel

Granary Live is an open-air live music venue and event space. It features a large capacity for up to 7,500 fans, a turf floor, VIP seating, and various food and drink vendors. Ample street parking is available, as well as paid lots directly across the street. Outside food and beverages are not permitted, but there are multiple on-site stands.
