Wild Utah Fly Fishing

I-15 north to Ogden. East on 12th Street to the mouth of Ogden Canyon, SR-39. This byway can be divided into 3 distinct parts—Ogden Canyon, Pineview Reservoir, and the Monte Cristo Road. Once you enter the canyon the road quickly narrows and its cliff walls are steep, rugged, and wildly beautiful with layers of limestone and shale streaked with cream, pink, and red. Excellent fishing and hiking can be found in the canyon. Perched at the top of the canyon, 6 miles from the mouth, is scenic Pineview Reservoir and dam. Water recreation is popular year-round, with boat ramps, camping, and picnic facilities. A worthwhile stop for bird watchers is Ogden Bay Waterfowl Management Area’s North Arm Viewing Site, with a pedestrian nature trail. Past the reservoir the byway passes through the town of Huntsville on the way to a steep ascent through South Fork Canyon. The road follows the south fork of the Ogden River through heavily wooded landscapes. As the byway nears Monte Cristo summit, you can glimpse views of Monte Cristo Peak through stands of spruce and Douglas fir. Due to snow conditions, portions of this route are closed in winter.

Join us for a jazzy take on a timeless holiday tradition! This show is set to music from Duke Ellington’s interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s score. The collection of dances are performed by PALS and the Imagine Ballet Theatre dancers. PALS stands for “Performing Artists Lengthening Strides,” which is a dance group featuring dancers with special needs. PALS provides dancers with an opportunity to grow as individuals, build transformative friendships, and have fun with their peers.These performers will warm your heart and the show is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
