Fall Woodcut Printmaking Class

During the workshop, you will: Learn the difference between woodblock and linocut printing, Practice safe carving techniques and proper tool handling, Sketch a design and transfer it to a carving block using carbon paper or direct drawing, Carve your own printing block, Experiment with a variety of papers, including thick fine art paper, lightweight paper, newsprint, and more, Ink and print multiple copies of your design, Learn how artists properly title and sign their prints. You'll leave with: Students are encouraged to trade prints with each other at the end of the class, so you’ll leave not only with your own carved block and handmade prints, but also a small collection of artwork from fellow students! All tools and materials are included.
